The very beginning...
After cutting his teeth at multiple CRO agencies, our Founder Matt decides it is time to do it differently.
He feels like more emphasis should be placed on education as part-and-parcel of the agency-client relationship, and that a pragmatism-over-perfection approach is more valuable.
So he forms a company & gets to work finding like-minded businesses to partner with.
2017
WeTeachCRO becomes a real agency
Our first-ever client (GoDaddy) comes onboard, and our first team members (Stacey Borrow & Neil Webley) too.
And we're fortunate enough to have retained all three since that very first day of trading!
This is also the year when we developed AdvAna, our in-house tool for advanced analysis of CRO tests, and delivered our first training programme for a client, staying true to our name.
2018
New services & our first-ever office
We introduce our 6-Step CRO Strategy for the first time, aiming to give those earlier in their CRO journey the best-possible foundations to work from.
On top of that, we move into the Runnymede Malthouse in Egham having worked remotely for almost 18 months.
We grow revenues by 80% year-on-year & realise that the whole team deserves to know more about business finances - so we share it all.
2019
More great growth & team member milestone
Revenues are up by 60% year-on-year & the team expands to 10 people for the very first time, including the largest our development team has ever been.
We also bring in a dedicated QA team & then wonder how we ever survived without them!
2020
New office, COVID-19 & a tough lesson in business realities
In January we moved into our current office at The Old Station in Staines, but after just a few months, COVID-19 has us all back working from home again.
Under the pressure of lockdowns & the largest economic crisis in our history, we fail to grow the business year-on-year for the first time ever and it sucks - so we vow never to let that happen again!
2021
Return to growth & the advent of marketing
With COVID-19 still lingering, we spend most of the year at home again! - but at least we've weathered the initial storm & we return to growth.
And after 4+ years of ignoring marketing as something we aren't very good at, we hire someone who actually knows what they're doing - and then we wonder why we hadn't done that years ago!
2022
Our 5-year trading anniversary!
We celebrate our 5-year anniversary in January by hiring a new Optimisation Consultant, bringing our Consultancy team to the largest it has ever been.
The rest we will have to wait & see...
